Child sex abusers keep kids quiet by threatening them with fear, harm to their family, and shame. But amidst that threat, a voice breaks through to remind the children not to believe the perpetrator – that you can tell someone, that you will be heard. That voice is Erin Merryn. And that method is Erin’s Law – empowering kids, through education, on who to tell and how to tell.  

 

Her journey to create and constantly fight for Erin’s Law is as heroic as they come. Erin rose from the dark ashes of the crimes committed against her as a child, to find her own voice, start a family, and create a way to help other children reclaim their life before it’s too late. For 16 years, and still to this day, her battle to pass Erin’s Law in all 50 states is a true David vs Goliath documentary story – a story that we’ve been capturing as it unfolds. One tiny 5’1” woman fighting against the true crimes and deaf ears of lawmakers that continue to deny children the benefit of Erin’s Law.

 

It’s an epidemic that affects 1 in 5 children in the US alone.  It can feel like an overwhelming abyss… but Erin’s story contains a powerful light that can bring us out of darkness. This is an uplifting and heroic story of a woman who knows “Every child has a voice. My mission is to help them use it.”
