WHEN WILL WE EVER FEEL AT HOME?

A SEARCH FOR LOVE, AMIDST THREAT

​

Rolling lush green hills. A winding road to a beautiful solitary cabin. Peaked snow capped mountains, families skiing, joyous smiles, and white crisp snow. A serene setting that is only unsettled by the background radio that gradually reminds us of the propaganda we constantly hear from American newscasters (over a faint gunfire.) “A regime of oppressed women and people,” “Iran-Middle East-War-Muslim-Radicals,” “Iran developing nuclear weapons – the brink of a nuclear weapon - nuclear threat to our very own well being.”

 

The sounds fade to silence, the white fades to black and we hear Sara “Growing up Jewish in Iran, I felt absolutely trapped, not by a regime…but more by my own family, by my own religion…and often now by my own mind.”

 

Close up on Sara - just her almond eyes, piercingly dark, kind, unfettering in their past full of sadness and belief in happiness. An Iranian. A jew. An artist. A romance. An unsettled soul.
